When are the Easter school holidays in London?
The Easter school holidays for most schools in Greater London is from Monday, 7 April to Monday, 21 April 2025. The Easter bank holiday weekend is from Friday, 18 April (Good Friday) to Monday, 21 April (Easter Monday).
Easter Egg Hunts in London 2025
Several venues and attractions around London organise special Easter egg hunt trails with a chocolate treat or prize at the end. Hampton Court Palace, Merchant Square Paddington, London Zoo and National Trust sites have recently announced details about this year’s Easter Egg Hunts.
Latest updates to the Easter Family Days Out list include the Big Egg Hunt, Hunt for the Green Dragon Eggs at London Museum of Water and Steam, Family Circus at Chessington Garden Centre, Zoonormous Egg Hunt at London Zoo and the Giant Easter Egg Hunt at RHS Wisley.

Easter Activities in London with Kids

The Big Egg Hunt 2025 across London
24 March – 27 April 2025
Elephant Family are joining forces with Clarence Court eggs for the Big Egg Hunt 2025 across London. The world’s biggest egg hunt invites the public to find giant decorated eggs hidden in cityscapes. The egg sculptures will be scattered across iconic locations and landmarks around London, including Chelsea, Covent Garden, Canary Wharf and the Battersea Power Station.
Decorated by a variety of leading artists, the eggs will be part of a free public art exhibition allowing visitors to “collect the eggs” via an app and redeem prizes along the way. “The Big Egg Hunt” app will be available to download from 24 March.
The Big Egg Hunt supports Elephant Family. Once the trail is finished, all eggs will be auctioned off to raise funds for the charity’s vital conservation work to protect habitats and wildlife in South Asia.

The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace
29 March – 21 April 2025
The Lindt GOLD BUNNY hunt at Hampton Court Palace is one of the most popular Easter Egg trails. Explore over 60 acres of palace gardens and find the Lindt Gold Bunny statues that are hiding there.
The Hampton Court Palace Easter hunt is designed for children aged 4-12 years old and their families. Follow the trail and match the names of influential characters to the distinctive red ribbons adorning every Lindt GOLD BUNNY statue.
When you have finished, remember to collect a Lindt GOLD BUNNY (10g) chocolate reward. Non chocolate rewards are also available on request. The Lindt Gold Bunny hunt is included in palace admission (members go free.) Under 5s go free and will not need a ticket.
Combine with a visit to the Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace (also included in palace admission, members go free) for a fun family day out.

Easter Egg Hunts at National Trust sites

National Trust have recently announced details about Easter Egg Hunts and activities at their sites around London.

The following National Trust sites in London are running Easter egg hunts and family activities over the Easter school holidays;
Osterley House and Gardens (2 – 21 April) – Explore the beautiful gardens of Osterley and discover the nature-inspired activities along this year’s Easter trail. The trail price costs £3 per person.
Ham House and Garden (5 – 21 April) – Make your way along a trail inspired by the English Civil Wars and enjoy activities for the whole family. The Easter trail price is £3.50 per person.
Morden Hall Park (17 – 21 April) – Join Bunny Ranger at Morden Hall Park for a fun-filled Easter trail. Family activities include welly wanging, child-safe axe throwing and ring-toss games. Easter trail prices are £3.50 per trail.
The price of the National Trust Easter trails includes an Easter trail map, bunny ears and choice between a dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg at the end. Normal National Trust admission applies.

Hunt the Green Dragon Eggs at London Museum of Water & Steam
5 – 21 April 2025
London Museum of Water & Steam is hosting an egg hunt like no other this Easter. The dragon that dwells on Green Dragon Lane has hidden all her eggs around the Museum for safekeeping. Follow the trail and find all the eggs before they hatch!
Complete the egg hunt and claim a special Easter prize at the end. The trail is aimed at children aged 3 and up. This is a paid for activity, more information to be released soon.

In addition to the Green Dragon Egg hunt, there will be plenty of family-friendly activities happening every day at the Museum over the school holidays. Enjoy water-filled fun at the Splash Zone, get busy with dragon-themed and Easter crafting in the Waterworks Gallery and bring along a mythical soft toy (dragons, unicorns or fairies) for family storytelling in the Babcock Room.

Supertato at Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens are running a fun-filled Supertato family event over the Easter school holidays based on the bestselling books by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet.
Join Supertato’s super squad, thwart the Evil Pea and save veggies in distress in hands-on activities. Tackle fun challenges while discovering how fruits and veggies grow and exploring their shapes and colours.

Easter Adventure at Hobbledown Heath
5 – 21 April 2025
Hobbledown Heath in West London have an egg-stra special line-up to celebrate during the Easter holidays. Family activities this Easter at Hobbledown Heath include an Easter Egg trail, archery sessions and meeting the Easter Bunny in his Burrow.
Also at Hobbledown Heath, learn more about the animals at educational talks and feeding times with zookeepers, and watch a range of owls, hawks and falcons take to the skies at the CODA Birds of Prey Centre.

Easter Adventure Quest at Eltham Palace and Gardens

Family Activities at London Transport Museum
5 – 21 April 2025
Explore the Keeping London Moving family event at London Transport Museum over the Easter school holidays. Join in on a series of fun activities to celebrate highlights from the last 25 years and the people who have been part of that journey.
Family activities, which are all free with Museum admission, include creating your own invention to carry people across the Thames and mapping out your own transport network.

Zoonormous Egg Hunt at London Zoo
5 – 21 April 2025
One of the London’s top family attractions, the London Zoo covers 36 acres in Regent’s Park and is home to over 750 different species of animals. This Easter, join in on family fun with the Zoonormous Egg Hunt on at London Zoo.
Follow the Easter egg hunt and collect missing letters from your trail card, learning about some of the egg-laying birds at London Zoo along the way. Crack the secret password to gain access to a secret end location and a tasty treat!

With over 105 acres of nature reserve to explore, WWT London Wetland Centre is a wonderful place to enjoy a day out in London with kids year-round.

Easter Egg Hunt at Merchant Square Paddington
11 April 2025
The annual Easter Egg Hunt is coming back to Merchant Square on 11 April, from 11am to 4pm. Enjoy a day of Easter-themed activities for children of all ages!
This year’s adventure at Merchant Square features “Hunt for the Hidden Eggs: A Whisker-Twitching Easter Adventure!” Step into a magical, character-led adventure filled with dress-up, storytelling, songs, games and a thrilling egg hunt.
The main attraction is an Easter Bunny Hunt, where families can collect maps and search for special Easter yard signs throughout Merchant Square for a chocolate prize.

Beegu at The Unicorn Theatre
22 March – 4 May 2025
Lost on Earth after her spaceship crashes, Beegu wanders off to find some friends.
She is a friendly little creature, but the Earth People don’t seem very welcoming at all. So far she has only met the BIG ones; perhaps the little people are a different matter.
Alexis Deacon’s much-loved tale about friendship, respect and the importance of including others is brought to life in this heart-warming stage adaptation.

Easter Egg Hunt at National Trust Surrey sites
29 March – 21 April 2025, dates vary by location
The following National Trust sites in Surrey are running Easter egg hunts and family activities over the Easter school holidays;
Claremont Landscape Garden (29 March – 21 April) – Go through the rabbit hole to a world where everything’s a bit bonkers this Easter. Have a go at Mad Hatter’s fun-filled activities, from races on the lawn to messing about in a mud kitchen.
Polesden Lacey (29 March – 21 April) – Join Grizwald the Griffin to explore the beautiful gardens, house and estate, with 10 fun family activities along the way.
Box Hill (5 – 21 April) – Follow the Easter trail at Box Hill through the natural play area with different games and challenges along the way. Egg rolling at Box Hill (18 – 21 April) – from 11am to 3pm each day, bring your own decorated egg and join in the tradition of egg rolling down Box Hill.
The price of the National Trust Surrey Easter trails costs £3.50 per trail and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end. Normal National Trust admission applies.

Easter Experiences at Priory Farm Discovery Land
4 – 21 April 2025
Dive into a world of giant carrots, Easter Bunnies and outdoor fun at Priory Farm this spring. The Discovery Land seasonal nature trail, The Great Big Carrot Hunt, will be running from 4 – 21 April.
Between 12 – 21 April, hop aboard the Easter Bunny tractor ride for an adventure through the fields searching for hidden crunchy carrots to put into your buckets. When you are ready, head over to the Easter Bunny to swap your harvest for a delicious treat.
The Easter Bunny tractor ride journey takes approximately 1 hour. Tickets for the Tractor Ride adventure include entry to Discovery Land on the same day.
