Adventure golf courses are among the outdoor sports facilities, which also include tennis courts and open-air swimming pools, that will be allowed to reopen following government guidelines once the lockdown is lifted in England on 29 March. Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf in Northolt, West London, is one of the mini golf courses that plan to reopen with COVID secure measures in place.
We visited Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf last June for a family day out in a similar situation, when restrictions were lifted after the first lockdown and outdoor facilities and gardens were the first attractions to reopen. We found the golf course well organised for social distancing and playing mini golf was a fun activity for the whole family! We look forward to planning a similar day out again soon.
The government guidance is to continue to limit travel journeys until restrictions relax further from 12 April. There are a number of adventure golf courses located around Greater London, and it’s recommended to check your local area, on Google Maps for example, for a nearby option if you’re interested in booking a round of mini golf during the Easter holiday.
In addition to Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf, there are three other mini golf locations operated by Adventure Experience: Pirate Cove Adventure Park in Bluewater, Kent; Jurassic Falls Adventure Golf in Walthamstow; and Dinosaur Safari Adventure Golf in Barnet.
We enjoyed our experience last summer at Dinosaur Adventure Golf London. It was our first time playing putt-putt as a family and the kids loved going around the course with lagoons, waterfalls and dinosaurs.
We found the golf course at Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf very well-organised for social distancing with safety measures in place. The course is one way only and the golf equipment is disinfected before and after each use. Players are required to keep 2 metres apart from other groups and you can only move to the next hole once it’s free.
Like most attractions operating during COVID, many adventure golf courses only accept online bookings and walk-ins are not permitted. To play at Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf, you will need to book an arrival time and purchase the number of tickets you need for your group in advance. Players must all be from the same household.
